Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos has remained quiet when asked about omissions from Vicente del Bosque's latest Spain squad.
Ramos's club teammates Alvaro Arbeloa and Isco were two notable absentees from Del Bosque's squad for this week's international friendly with Italy.
However, Ramos, who is one of the most experienced members of the squad, refused to be drawn on those not involved.
"I don't want to get mixed up in controversy or debates. That's what the coach is there for: to choose who to call up," he told Marca.
Ramos has 115 caps to his name.
