Atletico Madrid skipper Gabi believes that his side played the "complete game" in the derby against Real Madrid at the weekend.

Diego Costa's first-half strike ensured a 1-0 win for Atletico at the Santiago Bernabeu, a result that continued the club's 100% start to the season.

"I'm happy with the big performance from Atletico Madrid, it is clear that the team defended very well, we worked the game very well and we had chances to score some more," he told the club's official website.

"It is not easy to beat Real Madrid, the team played a very complete game today. We played a very good game and have had a lot of chances."

Atletico currently trail Barcelona in La Liga by goal difference.
