Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Club Brugge

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Club Brugge.

Real Madrid will head into Wednesday's Champions League clash with Club Brugge under little pressure having already booked their spot in the next round of the competition.

A total of eight points from five matches has left Los Blancos second in Group A, five points clear of third-placed Brugge heading into Wednesday's contest.

The capital giants cannot finish top of the section due to Paris Saint-Germain's excellent form, meaning that Zinedine Zidane is expected to take the opportunity to rest a number of key players.

That said, Madrid currently have a number of individuals on the treatment table, meaning that the winter break in Spain will come at a good time for the club.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Marco Asensio

Marco Asensio faces a battle to play again this season after suffering a serious knee injury during the team's preparations for the 2019-20 campaign. A timeframe on his return has not yet been set by the club.

James Rodriguez is expected to miss the remainder of 2019 after suffering a knee injury during a training session with Colombia in November. The attacker was allowed to join up with his country despite his injury problems in recent months but is now facing an extended period on the sidelines.

Eden Hazard will be on the sidelines for the remainder of the year after being diagnosed with an "external micro-fracture" of his right ankle. Possible return date: Unknown

Experienced defender Marcelo has had his fair share of injury problems this season, and the Brazil international is now facing a battle to return before 2020 having picked up a calf injury.

Gareth Bale
