How Real Madrid could line up against Club Brugge

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Club Brugge.

Real Madrid will finish the Champions League group phase with a trip to face Club Brugge on Wednesday.

The two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu when they last met back in September.

Los Blancos have already qualified for the knockout phases in second place behind Paris Saint-Germain, while Brugge are in pole position to finish in the Europa League spots.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the La Liga side could line up for this fixture.

POSSIBLE RMAXI v BRU

Out: Eden Hazard (ankle), Marcelo (calf), Lucas Vazquez (toe), James Rodriguez (knee), Marco Asensio (knee)
Doubtful: Nacho (knee)

There are a number of new signings and youngsters who remain on the periphery under Zidane, who will no doubt want to use this game as a way of further ingratiating certain players.

At right-back comes Eder Militao, signed from Porto over the summer, with the 21-year-old only managing six appearances in all competitions so far this term.

On the other side, Ferland Mendy has shown signs of his raw ability since August but his appearances have been far too sporadic, with the player facing the thankless task of competing with Marcelo for the left-back role.

At the base of midfield, as ever in Europe, is Casemiro, whose interventions at both ends of the pitch are always so important for Los Blancos.

Further forward, Luka Modric looks likely to come in after being rested during Real's last outing, with the Croat playing alongside another new player in the form of Federico Valverde.

Zidane is slowly starting to accommodate the talented 21-year-old into his first-choice group and will want the player to feel like he has some momentum behind him with another start.

On either flank, you suspect that Zidane will continue to blood Brazilian duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior - aged 18 and 19 respectively - who are two players seemingly destined to go straight to the top.

Completing the lineup and leading the front will be, of course, Karim Benzema, who has augmented some excellent performances this season with leadership and 15 goals in all competitions.
