Real Madrid have a 1-0 half-time lead over Athletic Bilbao in tonight's La Liga encounter at the San Mames.

The visitors took the lead with just two minutes on the clock as Cristiano Ronaldo fired in an unstoppable free kick from 30 yards.

Markel Susaeta nearly scored an equaliser for Bilbao midway through the half, but Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez got down low to keep his shot out.

The away side were inches away from making it 2-0 moments before the break when Angel di Maria saw his effort crash against the crossbar.
