Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has insisted that the capital outfit are not favourites for the La Liga title this season.
Simeone's side currently sit top of the pile after 22 matches, three points clear of Barcelona and Real Madrid who sit second and third respectively.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insisted on Tuesday that Atletico are title contenders, but Simeone has played down talk of league success.
"I insist. I don't think we can win the league. Our motto is silence and work and they will not make me believe something I don't," he told reporters at a press conference.
"If we look at the last decade at best we've finished third, 15, 20 or 30 points behind, so I don't think we can."
Atletico travel to Real Madrid for the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final this evening.
