Zinedine Zidane hails his Real Madrid side for being "focused" in the second leg of their last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain, which they won 2-1 in the French capital.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has insisted that his side are good value for their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The reigning European champions followed up last month's 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain with a 2-1 triumph in Tuesday night's second leg at the Parc des Princes.

PSG, beaten for just the second time in 47 continental games on home soil, desperately missed injured forward Neymar as they once again failed to make any real impact in the competition.

Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Zidane hailed his Madrid players for maintaining their impressive Champions League form.

"We started very well. We were focused and I believe it was a deserved win," he said. "It was a tough match. I'm pleased. I must congratulate the players as they're the ones on the pitch. Bravo to them.

"This is a tough ground to come to, the atmosphere is fantastic. We deserved to get through the tie."

Madrid have won 12 of their 16 Champions League knockout games under Zidane and have lifted the trophy twice in as many seasons since the Frenchman took charge.
