Rafael Benitez "very happy" with Paris Saint-Germain draw

With the club's injury list in mind, Rafael Benitez says that he is "very happy" with the 0-0 draw that Real Madrid claimed from their trip to Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez has insisted that he was "very happy" with the 0-0 draw that his side collected from their Champions League group encounter away at Paris Saint-Germain last night.

Los Blancos headed into the contest at the Parc des Princes with a number of players absent through injury, including Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Dani Carvajal.

With that in mind, Benitez was pleased that Madrid were still able to dominate proceedings in the French capital.

"We had more chances to win, quite a bit more control over the game than PSG and more shots on goal than them," he told the club's official website.

"To have put them under pressure as we did, given all the injuries we had to deal with, means I'll be leaving here a very happy man.

"I can't take anything away from the team's performance. Given the circumstances, we played an exceptional game."

The result means that the two teams are locked on seven points at the top of Group A.
