Rangers release Juanma Ortiz just 12 months into his three-year contract with the club.

Juanma Ortiz has had his contract with Rangers cancelled by mutual consent.

The Spanish winger only joined the Gers from Almeria on a three-year deal last season.

However, he found it difficult to force his way into Ally McCoist's starting lineup, making just 10 appearances before returning to Almeria on a loan basis.

"The club would like to wish Juanma well for the future," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The club will not have any objection to an International Transfer Certificate being provided by the SFA and the player has conducted himself in the correct manner."

The 30-year-old is now expected to join Granada on a free transfer.
