QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt has hailed the appointment of Mark Hughes.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt has stated that Mark Hughes is "a great manager".

The 22-year-old Moroccan also believes that the appointment of Hughes has given him the chance of a new start this season.

Taarabt was linked with a move away from the club in January after a disappointing half of the season under Neil Warnock, but he impressed in the club's 2-1 loss to Wolves last weekend.

"He's a great manager. He told me, 'You're a fantastic player and I am here to get you on the ball and we want to play football'. The last couple of months was disappointing for me because I didn't show what I know I can do. But now, a new manager and a new start for me," Taarabt told Goal.com.

QPR travel to Blackburn in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
