QPR boss Harry Redknapp reveals that Christopher Samba's recent absence has been through injury.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that Christopher Samba's recent absence has been due to an injury.

Reports recently suggested that the defender was dropped for QPR's goalless draw at Reading on April 28 - a result that relegated both sides to the Championship.

"It's just an injury, nothing more to him than that," Redknapp is quoted as saying by Football365.co.uk. "He's got several little injuries.

"We could force him out to play but we don't know whether he'd break down and set him back."

QPR play their penultimate game of the season on Sunday when they welcome Newcastle United to Loftus Road.
