Burton Albion let Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink interview for Queens Park Rangers job

Burton Albion give permission to Queens Park Rangers to speak to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink over their vacant head coach's role.

Burton Albion have allowed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to interview for the vacant Queens Park Rangers head coach role after the West London side made an official approach for his services.

QPR are yet to find a replacement since dismissing Chris Ramsey almost a month ago, with Neil Warnock leading the team temporarily since then.

Former striker Hasselbaink has been heavily linked with the post in recent weeks and now QPR seem on the verge of appointing the Dutchman after being given permission to speak to him by the Brewers.

Albion chairman Ben Robinson told the club website: "QPR have approached us asking for permission to speak to Jimmy and we have agreed to that. He will be interviewed shortly for the vacant manager's job."

Since taking over at the Pirelli Stadium a little over a year ago, Hasselbaink has led the Brewers to promotion from League Two and the top of the League One table this season.
