Michael Doyle completes Portsmouth switch

Former Sheffield United midfielder Michael Doyle signs a one-year contract with League Two side Portsmouth.

Portsmouth have secured the services of midfielder Michael Doyle.

The 33-year-old has agreed a 12-month contract at Fratton Park following his release by Sheffield United at the end of last season.

"I'm happy that it's all done. Now I want to crack on and try to help this club move back up through the divisions again," he told the club's official website.

"This is a massive club and if you achieve something here then you'll always be remembered."

Doyle scored 10 goals during his 231 appearances for the Blades.
