Albert Celades named Spanish Under-21 boss

Albert Celades is named the new manager of Spain Under-21s.

Albert Celades has been named as the new manager of Spain Under-21s.

The position had become vacant as Julen Lopetegui stepped down from his role to take over as manager of Portuguese outfit Porto.

The 38-year-old who represented Spain as a player at youth level, had recently been in charge of the Under-16 side, where his work has gained much praise.

Celades started his playing career with Barcelona, before moving to Celta Vigo and later Real Madrid, where he spent five seasons.

The former defensive midfielder also made four senior appearances for his country.
