Wesley Verhoek decides against his planned move to Nottingham Forest.

Wesley Verhoek has decided against his planned move to Nottingham Forest.

The ADO Den Haag winger, who was due to undergo a medical at the City Ground, said that he would be unable to relocate to England due to family upheaval.

Forest chief executive Mark Arthur explained that the deal’s collapse was particularly disheartening since agreement between the 24-year-old and both clubs had been reached last week.

"Both ADO Den Haag and ourselves are disappointed but we have no alternative but to respect Wesley's decision,” he told the club’s official website.

"Wesley is very close to his family and at least has made it clear now that he's not prepared to leave them and move to England.

"He told us that although everything about the club was in his opinion fantastic he already felt homesick and didn't think it was fair to the club or himself to proceed with the agreement."

The Reds host Notts County tonight for a first-round Carling Cup game, which kicks off at 7.45pm.
