David Kelly: 'It was a good advert for the Championship'

Nottingham Forest assistant manager David Kelly insists that his side should have taken maximum points from their visit to Watford.

Nottingham Forest assistant manager David Kelly believes that his side's 1-1 draw with Watford was a good advertisement for the second tier of English football.

Billy Davies' right-hand man insisted that his side deserved maximum points from the game, putting the stalemate down to a defensive mix-up on their part.

"It was a good advert for the Championship, we're pleased with how we played and attacked, but we are disappointed with the goal," PA Sport quotes him as saying. "If the right person had been on the right end of the wall it might not have gone in.

"But we had enough chances to finish game off well before they scored. We had three or four one on ones and Manuel Almunia makes a worldy on Ishmael Miller. We should have been a bit more clinical.

"But it's a good point against a good team who will be up there challenging this season. It says something when you come to a ground like this and are disappointed you haven't won."

Andy Reid gave Forest the lead in the match, but Lewis McGugan curled in a second-half free kick to deny his former club victory.
