Jez Moxey appointed Norwich City CEO following 16-year spell at Wolves

Jez Moxey is appointed Norwich City's new chief executive following a 16-year spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Norwich City have announced the appointment of Jez Moxey as the club's new chief executive.

The 53-year-old has spent the last 16 years of his career carrying out the same role for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, after Chinese conglomerate Fosun International agreed a £30m takeover deal at Wolves, Moxey is moving on to Carrow Road.

The businessman will formally take up the role after overseeing the transition of ownership at Molineux.

Chairman Ed Balls told Norwich's official website: "We're absolutely delighted to be welcoming Jez on board to lead this great football club into the next chapter of its 114-year history.

"We've conducted the very best and most thorough search for the right person to help us take the club forward and Jez, with his wealth of football experience and business acumen, was the stand-out candidate from an extremely strong shortlist.

"He is a very astute and highly-regarded operator within the game and has all the attributes and skills needed to embrace the immediate challenge of helping us to get back to the Premier League as a successful and vibrant club, on and off the pitch.

"Meanwhile, until Jez formally takes up his duties with us, Steve Stone will continue as interim chief executive. The board would like to place on record our sincere gratitude for the excellent job Steve has done leading the club through this period of transition."

Moxey has previously worked at Partick Thistle, Rangers and Stoke City.
