Iain Dowie, Jim Magilton or Michael O'Neill will become the new manager of Northern Ireland after they are interviewed by the IFA.
Dowie and Magilton will sit down with officials on Wednesday while Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O'Neill will have to wait until next week.
All three are former internationals for the current 89th ranked side in the world.
Dowie, 46, and Magilton, 42, are currently out of a job but both have managerial experience, with the former having spells at clubs including QPR, Hull and Crystal Palace while Magilton also had a brief time at QPR and three years at Ipswich.
O'Neill is quitting Shamrock on Thursday because contract negotiations with club officials broke down.
The new manager is expected to be in place for the friendly against Norway at Windsor Park in February.
