Domenico Scala sets out eight-part FIFA reform plan

Domenico Scala, FIFA's head of audit and compliance, announces an eight-part reform process to help the organisation recover from the recent corruption scandal.

Domenico Scala, FIFA's head of audit and compliance, has set out an eight-part plan to reform the organisation.

The 50-year-old's recommendations include a publicising of the president's salary, a 12-year presidential term limit and a bisecting of the executive committee.

Speaking at FIFA's reform committee in Bern, Scala said: "If FIFA does not move, public opinion will not change.

"I made it very clear when [Sepp] Blatter laid down his mandate that it was not only about the change of presidency but that there were certain systemic issues that need to be addressed.

"We need reforms now, we can't wait. FIFA works very well operationally and has not come to a halt. But this is a watershed in terms of role and perception going forward."

Scala's reform process includes integrity checks, congress holding executive committee elections, less bureaucracy, improving of standards, and structural changes.
