Sven-Goran Eriksson 'not quitting football'

Sven-Goran Eriksson will continue in football management despite losing his role with Shanghai SIPG last week, according to a report.

Sven-Goran Eriksson will reportedly continue in football management despite losing his job with Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG at the end of last week.

The former England boss led Shanghai to a third-place finish in the Chinese Super League last season, which came to a close at the end of October, but his team were 12 points behind the champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

The club's ambitious owners decided to replace Eriksson with former Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas, and it had been claimed that Eriksson was considering retiring from management.

However, according to Sky Sports News, the 68-year-old wants to continue in the coaching game and is currently open to offers as he plans his next move.

Eriksson famously managed the England national team between 2001 and 2006, and has since had spells with Manchester City, Mexico, Ivory Coast, Leicester City and Guangzhou R&F.
