FIFA president Sepp Blatter has revealed that the International Football Association Board will make a decision on goal-line technology on July 5.
The call for technological assistance on the pitch has been at the forefront of football in recent seasons with a number of potential systems currently being tested.
Blatter tweeted: "The IFAB will decide on goal-line technology on 5 July - I am confident they will realise that the time has come."
The head of the world governing body alerted his concerns over the lack of goal-line technology following England's 1-0 win over Ukraine on Tuesday, where the co-hosts were denied a goal that clearly crossed the line.
