Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has warned Yohan Cabaye that he is better off staying at the club amid reported interest from elsewhere.
The French midfielder missed out on a move to Arsenal over the summer as the Magpies rejected a bid from the Gunners.
However, there is understood to be renewed focus on Cabaye from other teams across Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, as the January transfer window beckons.
"He's in an environment where he's got pole position," Pardew is quoted as saying by Goal.com "You don't always get that. You can get lost at some clubs."
Newcastle are back in Premier League action on Boxing Day when they welcome Stoke City to St James' Park.
