Newcastle United close in on Swiss youngster Albian Aje?

Basel striker Albian Aje is reportedly on the verge of joining Newcastle United on a six-month loan deal.

Newcastle United have reportedly reached advanced negotiations with Basel regarding the availability of their young striker Albian Aje.

The 18-year-old, who represents Switzerland at Under-21 level, has found the net once from his seven appearances this season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies are keen to sign Aje on an initial six-month loan deal.

The young frontman is due to become a free agent at the end of the campaign.
