Mohamed Elneny having Arsenal medical?

A tweet from the former assistant coach of the Egyptian national team claims that Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny is currently undergoing a medical at Arsenal.

The former assistant coach of the Egyptian national team, Dia El Sayed, has claimed that Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny is having a medical with Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners over the last couple of days and it is understood that the 39-time international footballer has agreed personal terms on a £5m transfer to the Emirates.

According to a tweet posted by El Sayed, Elneny is currently in London undergoing a medical with the Premier League outfit.

Elneny, who could be announced as an Arsenal player at the beginning of next month, has scored four times in 21 games for Basel this season.

Arsenal are expected to be active in the winter window as head coach Arsene Wenger looks to boost his squad for the second half of the campaign.
