Matt Ritchie completes move to Newcastle United

Newcastle United announce that they have completed the signing of Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie.

Newcastle United have announced that they have completed the signing of Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie for an undisclosed fee.

Ritchie was one of Bournemouth's leading performers during their debut Premier League campaign but the Scottish international has insisted that he could not turn down an opportunity to pen a five-year contract with the North-East giants.

The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "It's an unbelievable feeling to come to a football club like this," said Ritchie.

"I loved it at Bournemouth - I had a fantastic time there and it had a huge impact on my career. But when a club like Newcastle comes calling, I couldn't pass up this opportunity.

"It's fantastic to be here and I'm really looking forward to the challenge of getting the Club back in the Premier League."

Ritchie's arrival follows the signing of Dwight Gayle, who joined from Crystal Palace for £10m earlier on Friday.
