Cheick Tiote: 'Newcastle United not sharp enough'

Cheick Tiote admits that Newcastle United played well below par during their 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Cheick Tiote has admitted that Newcastle United were not sharp enough during their 1-0 defeat to Fulham in the Premier League.

The Magpies suffered a fourth loss in six league matches on Saturday as they were narrowly beaten at Craven Cottage.

"We are disappointed. Everyone is down," Tiote told the club's official website. "We lost the game and wanted a better result today and a better performance.

"I don't know what went wrong. We didn't feel good, we didn't feel sharp as a team and there was a lot of sloppy passing and tackling."

Newcastle are back in action next Saturday when they play host to Crystal Palace in the league.
