Newcastle United have reportedly decided to use the funds generated from the sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic to sign Salomon Rondon from West Bromwich Albion.
Mitrovic has been heavily linked with a permanent transfer to Fulham after helping the Cottagers secure promotion to the Premier League during the second half of the last campaign.
Newcastle could receive in the region of £20m from that deal and according to the Daily Star, the Magpies will use the money to sign Baggies forward Rondon.
The Venezuela international is free to leave The Hawthorns providing that a club meets his release clause, which is said to be in the region of £16.5m.
Newcastle struggled for goals last season, but manager Rafael Benitez is looking for a physically-imposing frontman and will hope that the addition of the 28-year-old will provide his team with a different option.
