Fulham have reportedly moved closer to securing the signing of Newcastle United forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.
In the second half of the last campaign, Mitrovic netted 12 goals in 20 games during a loan spell at Craven Cottage as Fulham gained promotion from the Championship.
Mitrovic has since returned to his parent club but remains up for sale, and according to the London Evening Standard, Fulham are looking to push through a £20m transfer.
The 23-year-old is currently on his summer break after representing Serbia at the World Cup, but the report suggests that a deal will be wrapped up upon his return to England.
Newcastle are likely to want to speed up the transfer in a bid to provide funds for manager Rafael Benitez, who has indicated that the club must sell players before making any more new signings.
