Vurnon Anita delighted with "historical win"

Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita says that the players are delighted with their 1-0 win over Manchester United.

Vurnon Anita has praised Newcastle United for their victory over Manchester United this afternoon.

The Magpies claimed a 1-0 win at Old Trafford thanks to Yohan Cabaye's goal, and Anita was delighted with his side's performance.

"We knew that it had been 41 years since we last won here," he told the club's official website. "We were told it a few days ago by the manager.

"It's a historical win and we did it with good, beautiful football. We pressed the ball and kept it well when we won it back.

"We needed a win, of course. We lost on Wednesday [at Swansea City] so felt we had something to straighten out, and we did it well."

Newcastle are currently sixth in the Premier League table.
