Newcastle United have confirmed that Kieran Trippier has suffered a fractured foot.
The full-back scored the winner against Aston Villa on Sunday, helping the club secure their third victory in a row; however, he had to be substituted early in the second half of the game due to an injury.
The Magpies have now revealed that following a scan on Monday, Trippier has suffered a fracture to his fifth metatarsal in his left foot, which is set to keep him sidelined for upcoming fixtures.
Since he joined the club, the England international has featured in every single game, and Newcastle have picked up 10 points within four Premier League games, which have taken them out of the relegation zone.
Trippier was made the club captain for the recent 1-0 victory against Aston Villa in the absence of Jamaal Lascelles, but it is unclear when he will be able to return.
The Magpies will be back in action on Saturday when they face West Ham United in the Premier League.
