Fabricio Coloccini to make Newcastle United return

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew says that captain Fabricio Coloccini and Rolando Aarons will return to action in the trip to Burnley.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he will welcome back captain Fabricio Coloccini for tonight's trip to Burnley.

A calf problem had ruled the Argentine defender out of the Magpies' last two outings, but Pardew says that he is poised to return to first-team action at Turf Moor.

Rolando Aarons, meanwhile, had been out of action since the start of November with a hamstring injury.

"Aarons should be around on Tuesday, and the same for Colo. That is what Premier League squads are for," Pardew told reporters.

"We have done absolutely superbly with the guys we have got now, and the guys who have come in."

United sit ninth in the Premier League table, 10 places above the Clarets in 19th.
