Robin van Persie has leapt to the defence of under-fire Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink following Monday's 2-0 defeat to Iceland.
Two first-half goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson were enough to give the hosts all three points as Hiddink endured his third loss in four games since replacing Louis van Gaal in the summer.
However, when asked by reporters if he was missing Van Gaal - who led them to a third-place finish in the World Cup - Van Persie said: "Hiddink is a great manager so it's not fair to say that.
"We must keep hope. Nothing has been decided yet. It's an honour for everyone here to play for Oranje. We won't give up."
The defeat has thrown the Oranje's Euro 2016 qualification campaign into disarray, with the Dutch six points behind co-leaders Iceland and Czech Republic.
