Netherlands claimed a dominant 3-0 victory over Romania in Munich to progress to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
Cody Gakpo struck in the 20th minute to give the Dutch a half-time lead, before Donyell Malen netted a brace to round off a routine win.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how each player performed during Netherlands' last-16 triumph as Romania's journey comes to a disappointing end.
Romania player ratings vs. Netherlands: Tough day all round
GOALKEEPER
Florian Nita - 5/10
Would have been disappointed not to keep Gakpo out in the first half. Slightly redeemed himself with a strong stop to deny the Liverpool forward in the second period.
DEFENCE
Andrei Ratiu - 6/10
Also has to take some blame for the first goal as he failed to stop Gakpo from cutting inside onto his favoured right foot.
Radu Dragusin - 7/10
Strong display from the Tottenham defender. Did not deserve to be on the end of a three-goal thrashing.
Andrei Burca - 6/10
Failed to win any of his duels, but managed to offer valuable support to his centre-back partner.
Vasile Mogos - 4/10
The Dutch were keen to target his side, before his outing was cut short in the 38th minute after taking a heavy blow.
MIDFIELD
Dennis Man - 5/10
Failed to have a meaningful impact on the contest. Touched the ball on just 31 occasions, with only two of those taking place in the Dutch box.
Nicolae Stanciu - 6/10
The skipper created a couple of opportunities for his side, but he could not find the key to unlock the Dutch defence.
Marius Marin - 5/10
Tough outing in the defensive midfield role. Committed a number of fouls and won just two of his five ground duels.
Razvan Marin - 6/10
Offered one of Romania's main attacking threats, but his three passes into the final third failed to lead to anything meaningful.
Ianis Hagi - 6/10
Like Man on the opposite flank, Hagi also struggled to get hold of the ball, mustering 26 touches before he was withdrawn in the 72nd minute.
ATTACK
Denis Dragus - 6/10
Showed great work-rate but was ultimately offered very little service. Failed to make the most of Romania's only shot on target.
SUBSTITUTES
Bogdan Racovitan - 6/10
Produced a steady display after coming off the bench to replace the injured Mogos in the first half.
Denis Alibec - 5/10
Saw very little of the ball but won a couple of free kicks.
Valentin Mihaila - 5/10
Was one of the attacking substitutes introduced by Edward Iordanescu. Never looked like affecting proceedings.
Alexandru Cicaldau - 5/10
Experienced a tough time like his fellow substitutes.
Netherlands player ratings vs. Romania: Gakpo, Malen play starring roles
GOALKEEPER
Bart Verbruggen - 6/10
Made just one save and was a mere spectator for the majority of the contest.
DEFENCE
Denzel Dumfries - 7/10
Produced a strong defensive display to win nine of his 11 duels. Could of had an assist when he cut the ball back to Simons, who took too long to unleash a shot.
Stefan de Vrij - 7/10
Sent his header into the side-netting shortly after Gakpo had scored the opener. Did what he had to do when called upon.
Virgil van Dijk - 7/10
Produced a strong performance to marshal the Dutch backline. Nearly grabbed a goal when he headed against the post from a corner.
Nathan Ake - 6/10
Put in a dependable display until he was withdrawn in the 69th minute.
MIDFIELD
Jerdy Schouten - 7/10
His pass kick-started the move for the Netherlands' first goal. Also offered a useful contribution out of possession.
Xavi Simons - 7/10
Grabbed two assists - for the first and third goal - and provided a constant threat with his driving runs and nimble footwork.
Tijjani Reijnders - 7/10
Completed 69 of his 72 passes to keep things ticking over in the middle of the park.
ATTACK
Steven Bergwijn - 4/10
Failed to make a real impression in his first appearance of the tournament. Gave way for Malen at half time.
Cody Gakpo - 9/10
Scored a sublime goal to give Netherlands a crucial lead, before he saw a potential second chalked off for offside. Went on to tee up Malen in the 83rd minute.
Memphis Depay - 7/10
Showed flashes of his undoubted talent to create five chances in the contest.
SUBSTITUTES
Donyell Malen - 8/10
Made his case to be recalled for the quarter-final. Was in the right place at the right time to score his first, before he raced from the halfway line to complete his brace with a sensational effort in stoppage time.
Micky van de Ven - 6/10
Had little to do after replacing Ake.
Joey Veerman - 6/10
Threatened to score, but guided his strike just wide of the far post.
