Napoli boss Rafael Benitez: 'We were in control against Udinese'

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez says that his side were the better team during their Coppa Italia win over Udinese.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has insisted that his side were in control during their Coppa Italia victory against Udinese, despite needing a penalty shootout to see off their opponents.

The Spaniard's side were held to a 2-2 draw at home, but prevailed 5-4 in the shootout after Allan Marques Loureiro missed the decisive kick.

"Missing a penalty so early gave confidence to the other team," Benitez told reporters. "When we went 2-1 up it seemed over but Udinese scored again and we need to defend better in those situations.

"I had faith we could do it, as the team were in control. Udinese were only occasionally dangerous but we were missing that final ball."

Benitez also addressed his future at Napoli in his post-match press conference, insisting that he is "happy" at the club but plans to discuss his future in the coming months.
