Adrian Mutu levels for Ajaccio against Nancy

Adrian Mutu scores a late penalty to give Ajaccio a spare of the spoils against Nancy.

An Adrian Mutu penalty has cancelled out Djamel Bakar's opener in an entertaining 1-1 draw between Nancy and Ajaccio.

The match started brightly and in the seventh minute Mutu headed wide. The miss proved to be costly for Ajaccio, as just a minute later Djamel Bakar finished well to give Nancy the lead.

Mutu again missed the target just after the 15-minute mark and Lossemy Karaboue shot wide for the visitors 10 minutes later.

The Romanian striker continued to get into dangerous positions and he was denied by the post just five minutes before the end of the half.

Mutu and Eduardo exchanged chances for Ajaccio early in the second half, but the visitors' shooting was continuing to let them down.

However, their pressure did pay off and Nancy were unable to keep their first clean sheet for 14 games. Sebastien Puygrenier was booked for conceding a penalty and Mutu made no mistake from the spot.
