Napoli have opened talks with Montpellier HSC regarding the sale of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, according to reports in France.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League, but radio station RMC now suggests that he could be heading to Naples.
Yanga-Mbiwa, who helped La Pallaide to their first ever Ligue 1 title last season, was been cut from Laurent Blanc's Euro 2012 squad.
The centre-back, who is believed to be valued at around £13m, came through the youth ranks at the Stade de la Mosson, making his debut in 2007.
