Montpellier's Rene Girard wants Premier League move

Rene Girard says that he wants to manage a club in England next season after he steps down from his role at Montpellier this summer.

Montpellier coach Rene Girard has reiterated that he wants to manage in the Premier League.

The 59-year-old will leave the former French champions at the end of the season after four years in charge of the Ligue 1 outfit.

"I'm heading off for a new challenge," he told RMC. "My wish would be to try a new adventure abroad, discover something new.

"In France, the seven or eight clubs that could give me better than what I had in Montpellier are already taken.

"The coaches are nicely settled and are doing good work. My preference is for England, it's a country which attracts me a lot."

Girard has previously coached Nimes, Pau and Strasbourg in his career.
