MK Dons boss Karl Robinson: 'We deserved our luck against Doncaster Rovers'

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson insists that his side were due their fortuitous opening goal against Doncaster Rovers.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has insisted that his side deserved the good fortune that led to their opening goal in their 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in League One.

The Milton Keynes outfit endured a frustrating hour before Dean Bowditch put them ahead inadvertently, deflecting a clearance into the opposition's goal.

After the game, Robinson declared that his side were due a spot of luck, having been denied it all season.

"It's the first time all season we've had a fluke, where the keeper's missed it or an own goal or something that's gone our way," PA quotes him as saying.

"I said to Richie [Barker] that we're overdue it and we need to get a few more between now and the end of the season. I thought we were very good, we were so patient and I always thought that we looked in control against a good side."

The result keeps MK Dons' hopes of automatic promotion alive, leaving them in third place in the table, one point behind Preston North End in second.
