Zinedine Zidane backs Angel di Maria for Paris Saint-Germain success

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane backs Angel di Maria for success at Paris Saint-Germain if the reported move from Manchester United comes to fruition.

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has backed Angel di Maria to be a success at Paris Saint-Germain, should the Argentina international make the move from Manchester United.

The United wideman is reportedly close to sealing a move to the Ligue 1 side, just 12 months after arriving at Old Trafford for a British record close to £60m.

Zidane told BMF TV: "He's the kind of player that can take you to the next stage. That's what they need to go further in the Champions League.

"Angel di Maria can contribute his energy, the difference he makes when he accelerates, he has the quality to do something. I think that it will happen in the coming days."

PSG were keen on signing Di Maria last summer prior to his move to United, but were held back by Financial Fair Play restrictions.
