Pedro 'says goodbye to Barcelona as Manchester United move edges closer'

Pedro tells friends that he will join Manchester United in a £22m deal, according to reports.

Barcelona forward Pedro has reportedly informed close friends and family that he will move to Manchester United this summer.

The 28-year-old has been edged out of the Barcelona first team in the last year, with the arrival of Luis Suarez pushing him back to a place on the bench.

Reports have suggested that he is keen to leave in order to find more first-team football, and United are in pole position as they look replace Angel di Maria, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The Telegraph claims that United have agreed personal terms with the player and will pay his £22m buy-out clause, but they want a resolution to Di Maria's situation before they press ahead with the deal.

However, Pedro seems convinced that the move will happen as he has begun to say his goodbyes in Spain.

The winger scored 13 goals last season.
