Crystal Palace head coach Patrick Vieira is reportedly pushing to sign Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan for the remainder of the season.
Red Devils interim manager Ralf Rangnick is keen to keep hold of the Netherlands international this month, but it is believed that he could be allowed to leave on loan before the end of the transfer window.
Palace appear to be at the head of the queue for the midfielder, and according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are currently in negotiations over a short-term deal.
Romano claims that Vieira is determined to secure the 24-year-old's services for the rest of the season, although the Eagles will not have the chance to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.
Van de Beek has only played 68 minutes of Premier League football during the 2021-22 campaign, having struggled to earn the trust of either Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Rangnick.
The Dutchman still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with the 20-time English champions, though, and could be in the plans of the club's new manager next season.
