Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly growing frustrated with the progress of winger Jadon Sancho.

Erik ten Hag has reportedly become increasingly frustrated with the progress of Jadon Sancho this season.

When United paid an alleged £72.9m to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, much was expected of the winger who had established himself as one of the most exciting players in Europe at the Westfalenstadion.

However, the England international has come nowhere near to justifying his price tag in his 64 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

The 23-year-old has contributed just 10 goals and four assists, a return which has left him in and out of the team under several different managers.

Ten Hag has had a positive impact at Old Trafford, being responsible for the turnaround in fortunes which has put United in contention to return to the Champions League.

The Dutchman took the decision to allow Sancho to spend time away from the squad in an effort to help the attacker regain his previous sparkling form.

After being substituted versus Chelsea after 52 minutes on October 22, Sancho did not make another senior appearance until an EFL Cup tie with Nottingham Forest on February 1.

Since then, faith has been placed in the player, who has been given 565 minutes of action spread across 12 matches in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Sancho has chipped in with just two goals during that time, and it appears that his boss is running out of patience.

According to Manchester Evening News, consideration could be given to a sale during the next transfer window.

With a contract until 2026, United remain in a strong position, yet it appears highly unlikely that any club will bid close to the fee that United paid in 2021.

Ten Hag is said to be keen for United to show a ruthless streak in the transfer market, and sales will need to be made if they are to achieve such goals ahead of 2023-24.

Sancho will hope to be handed a further chance to impress with United playing Brentford and Everton in home fixtures on Wednesday and Saturday respectively.
