Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly told Manchester United to make an approach for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Steven Bergwijn during the January transfer window.
Solskjaer is only scheduled to be manager at Old Trafford until the end of the season, but six successive wins have boosted the Norwegian's chances of getting the job on a full-time basis.
United are yet to be active during the current window, but according to Tuttomercatoweb, Solskjaer has advised the club's hierarchy to bid for Bergwijn.
The 21-year-old has come through the youth system at the Dutch giants to establish himself as one of the key men in the first team, with 19 goals being scored from 91 appearances in all competitions.
The Netherlands international - who has a contract at PSV until 2022 - can play on either flank, and United could potentially be looking for additions in wide areas throughout 2019.
