Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani to instead focus on younger targets.
The Red Devils are rumoured to have been keeping tabs on the Uruguay international, who is due to see his contract with PSG expire at the end of next month.
According to the Manchester Evening News, however, United do not feel that Cavani fits the profile of the type of player that they are looking to build their team around, even if he is available for free.
United will instead continue with their recent policy of bringing in younger and sometimes unproven talent, it is claimed, with Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho still top of their transfer wishlist.
Cavani, who turned 33 in February, is PSG's all-time leading goalscorer with 200 in 300 games and is also wanted by Atletico Madrid.
