Super-agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly asked Manchester United whether they have any plans to make a bid for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.
With the Colombia international having fallen down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane, Real are keen to get the playmaker off their wage bill.
This has led to frequent speculation involving the 28-year-old with the likes of Arsenal, Everton, Napoli and Atletico Madrid all being linked with an approach.
However, according to Sport, Mendes has made contact with United to enquire about their level of interest in Rodriguez.
The Premier League giants are expected to make significant moves in the next transfer window, which is likely to include additions in the final third.
As a result of Rodriguez having just over a year left on his contract, it has been suggested that Real may be willing to accept offers in the region of £34m.
