Manchester United are quoted £52m for Benfica defender Ruben Dias, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly been told that they will have to pay £52m to sign Benfica defender Ruben Dias in this summer's transfer window.

The 21-year-old has made more than 50 appearances for his Portuguese club during the 2018-19 campaign.

United are believed to have scouted the centre-back earlier this year ahead of a potential move this summer.

However, according to The Sun, Benfica have told the 20-time English champions that it will cost more than £50m to open contract talks with the nine-time Portugal international.

United's disappointing 2018-19 campaign ended with a shock 2-0 home loss to Cardiff City on Sunday.

As a result, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side - expected to invest heavily in this summer's transfer market - have finished the season down in sixth position.
