Manchester United 'targeting four new players'

Manchester United want to sign four new players over the next two transfer windows, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly planning on signing four new players over the next two transfer windows.

The Red Devils acquired Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire during the summer, but the club failed to sign either a midfielder or centre-forward despite a host of speculation.

United have made their worst start to a top-flight campaign since 1989-90, with a total of nine points from seven matches leaving them in 10th spot in the Premier League table.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the 20-time English champions are preparing to spend heavily in January and indeed next summer, with a full-back, a midfielder, an attacker and a centre-forward expected to arrive.

The report claims that the club are interested in Leicester City duo James Maddison and Ben Chilwell, while Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and West Ham United's Declan Rice are under consideration.

United have also recently been linked with January moves for Lyon forward Moussa Dembele and Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will attempt to make it two wins from their two Europa League group games this season when they travel to Dutch outfit AZ on Thursday night.
