Manchester United are reportedly the only club to have been in contact with PSV Eindhoven to discuss a possible January deal for Dutch attacker Cody Gakpo.
The speculation surrounding the 23-year-old's future continues to gather pace, as he starred for the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup, scoring three times in five appearances, helping his side to reach the final eight.
Gakpo was in excellent form for PSV ahead of the competition, meanwhile, scoring 13 goals and registering 17 assists in 24 appearances.
The Dutchman has a contract with his current club until June 2026, but it is understood that he will be allowed to leave during the winter market for the right price.
Man United are one of a number of clubs to be linked with the forward, with Arsenal and Real Madrid also said to be admirers, but according to Football Insider, Erik ten Hag's side are the only team to have held talks with PSV over a mid-season transfer.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions are in 'regular contact' with Gakpo's representatives, and the club are working on bringing him to Old Trafford in January.
Ten Hag will allegedly be handed a healthy transfer budget at the start of 2023 to improve the squad, with the Dutchman targeting three new players, including Gakpo.
The forward has now scored 55 goals and registered 50 assists in 159 appearances for PSV, making his first-team debut for the Dutch giants in 2018 after coming through their youth system.
PSV director of football Marcel Brands recently provided an update on the attacker's future.
"You have to be realistic. If you talk about Cody Gakpo and the price tag attached to him, there may be 10 to 12 clubs in Europe that can afford him," Brands told Eeuwig Trouw.

"Amounts have not been discussed, but if the right club comes that Cody would like to go. Those agreements were already made before I came. It must be a record transfer for PSV anyway. Then you know in which direction it should go.
"In the media it seems like all the clubs are lining up, but the reality is that we don't know anything about interest or anything yet. It's quiet. I've spoken to Cody, he's going on vacation for 10 days. If something is at play, it is perhaps known to Cody or his management, but not to us yet."
A record transfer for PSV would be any deal over the €45m (£38.6m) that Napoli paid the Dutch club to sign Hirving Lozano in the summer of 2019.
Gakpo was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the recent transfer window and spoke to Ten Hag over a possible switch to Manchester.
However, the forward ultimately remained in Holland, with Man United instead focusing their efforts on bringing in Brazilian attacker Antony from Ajax.
