Two Championship clubs reportedly express an eagerness to sign Manchester United striker Federico Macheda on loan.

Manchester United will reportedly allow Federico Macheda to leave the club on a loan basis during the January transfer window.

The Italian frontman made an instant impression when making his debut for the Red Devils back in 2009 by scoring a late winner in a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa that helped United secure the Premier League title.

However, his career has stalled since then and this season he has found himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford behind the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck.

As a result, United will sanction a temporary switch in order for the 21-year-old to gain some regular action, according to The People.

The report has claimed that Championship duo Blackpool and Hull City are the frontrunners for Macheda's services.
