Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has refused to rule out Ousmane Dembele leaving the club before this summer's transfer window closes for business.
Manchester United are said to be considering the France international as an emergency loan signing in the event of missing out on a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
Koeman has said that he is "counting" on the World Cup winner but has admitted that the 23-year-old could leave Camp Nou if the club or the player push for an exit.
"The first thing to say is that it is up to the club and to the player. But he is with us and as we've seen in recent weeks I am counting on him....he has to wait to play but he is training well, getting fitter. I want to say that I am counting on him," Koeman told reporters.
Dembele was a late substitute in Barca's opening La Liga game of the season against Villarreal on Sunday, having fully recovered from the hamstring problem that saw him miss a lot of football last term.
United are expected to make two more signings before this summer's transfer window comes to a close.
